SanDisk has released a technology package X4, 4 bits of data in each memory cell. Each memory chip holds 64Gigabit or 8GB of data. This is the largest capacity in the flash memory chip industry today. SanDisk X4 technology is packaged in the form of SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card 8GB and 16GB capacities, as well as Memory Stick PRO Duo card 8GB and 16GB capacities.

SanDisk Corporation, the technology claim 4 bits per cell flash memory (X4) is a technology with high performance, first in the world. By using 43 nanometer processing technology (nm), X4 technology flash memory chip is trying to put the capacity of 64GB in a single chip. SanDisk also created an advanced X4 controller that can effectively manage the complexity and performance X4. X4 chip C4 controller combines in Multi-Chip Package (MCP) to provide complete solutions and storage devices are cost effective. X4 SanDisk memory chips is 43nm 64GB flash memory capacity of the world's largest, which has a performance writing 7.8MB/sec, which is commensurate with multi-level cell memory.

Flash memory card to be sold at the retailer separately generally not as reliable as SSD (Solid State Drives) which also uses flash chips are packaged in the laptop. The more dense chips and more bits per cell, the greater the ability to maintain data, and SanDisk has been doing well. "Technology X4 ours is not just sold at cheaper prices equivalent to 4 bits per cell, but also focuses on the reliability and performance of standard memory cards." Said Sanjay Mehrotra, SanDisk COO.
